We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee our logistics and transportation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the efficient movement of goods, coordinating with supply chain teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Duties
Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily transportation activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing leadership and support to optimise performance.
Develop and implement efficient routing schedules using IT systems and logistics software.
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments to coordinate deliveries and resolve any logistical issues.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, vehicle logs, and inventory levels using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Analyse transportation data to identify areas for improvement in cost-efficiency and service quality.
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards within the transportation department.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client queries related to deliveries or logistics issues.
Qualifications
Proven experience in management within logistics or supply chain environments.
Strong driving skills with valid licences for relevant vehicle types (e.g., lorry licences preferred).
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and IT systems relevant to logistics management.
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative working environment.
Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
