. As our Transport Manager, you'll be responsible for arranging collections from private individuals and dealers across the UK - whether it's a Range Rover on a trailer in Cornwall or a Porsche in Glasgow, you'll be booking, coordinating, and often leading the charge.
You must hold a
7.5T licence with towing entitlement
, as you'll be operating our 7.5-ton lorry and Brian James Race Trailer, regularly transporting vehicles up to 2 tons in weight.
We're looking for a confident, driven individual who can take ownership of this function and build a first-class team beneath them. Someone who thrives under pressure, carries themselves with authority and professionalism, and knows how to deliver both operational excellence and customer reassurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct professional on-site inspections
of vehicles, including basic mechanical checks and full cosmetic appraisals to Oakdene standards
Confidently negotiate price adjustments on-site
if a vehicle is not as described, maintaining a professional and personable approach
Oversee vehicle maintenance and driver compliance
in line with DVSA regulations, ensuring all operations remain fully legal and roadworthy
Personally drive and operate our 7.5T lorry with trailer to complete collections across the UK
Arrange and coordinate weekly collection schedules for both yourself and a growing team of drivers
Set up and maintain the company's vehicle operator's licence, managing all regulatory and compliance aspects
Build, lead and train a high-performing team of appraisers and drivers to meet Oakdene's standards
Communicate closely with the sales and aftersales departments to ensure efficient vehicle movement and customer satisfaction
What You'll Need:
Valid 7.5T driving licence with trailer entitlement

Experience in vehicle transport/logistics, ideally within the motor trade
Confidence in face-to-face negotiation and objection handling
Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and condition appraisals
Excellent communication skills, both with customers and internal teams
Ability to lead, coach and develop a team of drivers/appraisers
Proactive, hands-on mindset with a desire to build and improve systems
