We are seeking a highly organised Transport Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our logistics and transportation activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the movement of goods, coordinating with various depots, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Duties
Plan, coordinate, and monitor transportation operations to ensure timely delivery of goods within our Pallet Network.
Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing leadership and support.
Develop and implement transportation strategies that optimise efficiency and reduce costs.
Use of TMS System Scheduling, routing, and dispatching of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including logs, reports, and compliance documentation.
Utilise Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to prepare reports, analyse data, and communicate effectively.
Monitor supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the transportation department.
Skills
Proven management experience within logistics or supply chain environments.
FLT Counterbalance licence.
Driving skills with a valid licence; experience in fleet management is desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook; IT literacy is essential.
Good understanding of logistics principles, supply chain operations, and transportation regulations.
Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to resolve issues diplomatically.
Computer literacy with experience using IT systems relevant to transportation management is advantageous.
