Job Purpose



As the Transport Operations Manager you will be reporting to the Operations Director and will be responsible for all aspects of the Transport Function. This role includes overseeing and support for a small office team and a great group of drivers. This role will also oversee the daily planning and routing of the vehicles in a 24/7 operation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities



To line manage and coach all members of staff within the Transport Operations Team Carry out effective 1 to 1's Work closely with HR on leading, mentoring, and developing a team of transportation professionals. Drive recruitment to achieve at least 95% employed drivers within the operation. To ensure the Transport function operates profitably. Ensuring through peaks, holidays and other absences that the office has enough cover and operates effectively. Ensuring our TMS is used to the best of its capability along with our sign on glass system. Ensuring vehicle defect end to end process is always watertight. Ensure department checklists are completed and reviewed on a regular basis Maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring a polite and well-mannered approach is received by the customer. Building unbreakable relationships with customers ensuring MTS are at the top of their list to call. Support the Compliance Team and to ensure that; Collaboration and communication between Planning and Compliance is effective Accident reporting process is completed end to end with all stakeholders To hold daily AM & PM meetings with the team to ensure clear direction of the tasks in hand along with any issues that may have arisen. Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
