Role Summary

Clive Cowern Transport is seeking a proactive and organised Transport Planner / Co-ordinator to manage the daily despatch and scheduling of drivers and vehicles across our operations.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the day's activity -- making sure drivers are briefed and dispatched on time, updating plans and paperwork as things change, and keeping everything moving smoothly. You'll be working across both pallet network and general haulage operations, with experience in these areas being a real plus. Familiarity with TMS systems like Vigo is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities:-

Despatch drivers daily, ensuring plans are followed and adjusted when required.

Monitor and respond to operational changes, updating paperwork and systems accordingly.

Plan and schedule driver routes for maximum efficiency and legal compliance.

Liaise with customers and partner depots on ETAs, changes, and service updates.

Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the transport management system (TMS).

Support with holiday/absence cover and assist across planning/admin functions.

Requirements

Experience in a transport or logistics planning role (preferred).

Solid understanding of driver hours, WTD, and road transport compliance.

Able to multitask, remain calm, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills -- confident with drivers, customers, and colleagues.

Comfortable using Microsoft Office and planning software.

Experience with TMS systems such as Vigo (preferred).
