Job Purpose
The Transport Planning Assistant provides essential administrative support to the Transport Planners and Managers. This role involves liaising with internal departments, assisting with data collection and analysis, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant transport regulations and policies. The role is key to helping maintain smooth daily operations and contributing to continuous improvement in transport planning and logistics performance.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Assisting the Planners in allocation of jobs/routes
Update weekly planning sheets in relation to planned vehicle maintenance
Liaise with other departments and drivers to provide updates on ETA's
Answering phone, talking to our drivers/other departments as required
Producing accurate manifests for loads and responding to related queries
Monitoring/ordering ancillary equipment as needed
Various Transport Administration Duties, including payroll, expenses, mileage records, driver and vehicle status updates, booking hire cars/taxis/hotels, filing etc
Other ad hoc tasks/projects as requested to support the Transport office
Essential skills and experience
Attention to Detail
IT Literate, comfortable with outlook, word and excel
Ability to learn new tasks and processes
Positive approach with 'can do' attitude and able to multitask
Ability to work on own initiative when required
Hours of work
40 hours per week
Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 5pm.
No weekends
