Overview

An amazing opportunity for a Transport Shift Manager to join the P66 team. As a Transport Shift Manager you will ensure that resource is efficiently provided and both company and customer procedures are followed and agreed customer service levels are always met.


Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday (weekends may be needed.)



To cover core hours of working day





How will you contribute?

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day transport activities and customer service levels of your shift. Proactively manage and motivate drivers, to achieve planned targets and deadlines and resolve any issues daily Responsible for out of hours order-taking, order amendments and planning. Responsible for providing customers with accurate ETA's and communicating any changes to their order. Ensure daily briefings and debriefs of driving team members Ensure absences, sickness and holidays are covered Carry out return to work interviews, monitor in line with company policy Promote and record near miss reporting to support a Health and Safety culture Ensure accurate and efficient issue of delivery documents Ensuring effective collation of statistical information for various transport reports Management of tachograph records, and vehicle downloads Ensuring the correct management of drivers' hours, working time directives and monitoring of reference period averages

What will you bring?

Ability to cope in a fast-moving environment with a flexible can-do attitude. Understands and can respond to customer needs. Effective communicator with the ability to develop good working relationships with the customer, drivers, and senior managers. Must be self-motivated with a can-do approach as this is an outbase role and you will be the first point of contact for drivers Understanding of CI principals desirable but not essential Previous experience using Microsoft office, Excel, is essential Whilst previous logistics experience and experience of Transport Management Systems is desirable, it is not essential, as training can be provided. CPC is desirable but not essential
