DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrative understanding of transport procedures in a busy environment.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
Supporting the Transport Manager in providing a fully compliant operation, operational expertise, ensuring the transport operation is efficiently run within the agreed cost perimeters and ensuring a first class service is maintained to achieve the contracts objectives and meet the customers demands.
Achievement of targets, deliveries on time, maintaining team morale, achievement of personal development objectives and remaining compliant.
Manage a team of 3 x First Line Managers, co-ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of a team; providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training & development.
Accountable for the delivery of all aspects of the shift operation ensuring the delivery of efficient and custmer focused service
Analyse reports against KPI targets and advise on action to improve results
Fostering an environment that promotes a culture of Continuous Improvement, sharing of ideas and best practice.

Previous and practical experience as a Shift Manager in a Transport or Distribution environment
Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages including Tachomaster and Microlise
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage, organise and train direct reports
Flexibility to work a 4 week shift patterns
Ensures that day-to-day operational activities are inline with customers specifications
A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received
Live locally to Stoke on Trent ST4 2TP
