A look into the role

Henderson Wholesale is a leading Wholesaler in Northern Ireland and supplies goods to over 450 stores across various brands such as SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO. We source from local farmers, growers and producers and are proud to contribute to our local economy and environment.

Working as a Shunter you will:

Complete all safety checks before moving any trailer or vehicle. Report all defects and health and safety concerns to the Transport Office. Shunt trailers & vehicles to and from loading bays in a timely manner. Ensure all trailers are safety checked, and fridges are running in preparation for drivers starting their shift. Assist the Warehouse & Transport teams with any duties required.

Skills for Success

Joining us as Shunter you'll need to have:

A current LGV Group C+E licence A Driver Qualification Card

The Attributes you'll need include:

Yard Awareness & Safety-Strong understanding of site safety rules and procedures. Strong attention to detail and vigilance when operating in shared spaces with pedestrians, FLTs, and other vehicles. Time Management & Efficiency-Organised and able to prioritise trailer movements based on loading/unloading schedules. Good communication skills and the ability to work with others, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative.

It is desirable if you have:

At least 6 months relevant driving experience A good knowledge of vehicle refrigeration A good knowledge of tail lift operation

This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week. Working hours will be:

Monday - 12pm-12.30am Tuesday - 12pm-1am Sunday - 11am-1am
