Role Overview:



Responsible for managing a team of drivers, coordinating routes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing transport processes to meet customer demands efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:



Team Management:

Supervise and lead a team of drivers and transportation staff, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and performance standards.

Route Planning and Coordination:

Efficiently plan and organize transportation routes to optimize delivery schedules, minimize costs, and ensure timely deliveries.

Fleet Maintenance:

Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs, and ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition, compliant with safety standards, and properly licensed.

Compliance and Regulations:

Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and company policies, including health and safety standards, driving regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Performance Tracking:

Implement and maintain systems to track and analyse transportation performance metrics, such as on-time delivery rates, fuel consumption, and cost-effectiveness.

Customer Service:

Collaborate with the customer service team to address transportation-related customer inquiries, concerns, and requirements promptly and professionally.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate transportation records, prepare reports, and communicate operational updates to management as required.

Manage Allocated Subcontractors:

Manage allocated sub contractors to ensure excellent service levels and value for money for all spend.

Requirements:



Proven experience (Minimum of 3 Years) working in a similar role within the transportation or logistics industry. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance standards, and route optimization techniques. Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively. Proficiency in using transportation management software and systems. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams, external partners, and customers. A valid UK driving license and any additional certifications relevant to the transport industry. 4 days out of 7 working pattern

Education:



A degree or equivalent qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is advantageous.
