Job Overview
As a key member of the Transport and Logistics team, the role holder's key duties will be to support the Transport department and help within the operational running of the site. You will help the Group Logistics Director and Transport Planner and will work with our warehouse team to ensure a timely dispatch and support the management with safety and legal compliance.
Assist the Transport Planner in completing the weekly transport plan.
Act as first point of contact for any driver issues that occur during the shift, If RTA/collision, collate relevant information as a start point for accident/incident investigation
Review driver daily check sheets with the drivers, ensuring that all vehicles are roadworthy, and any defects raised during vehicle checks are completed and all accidents/damage reported daily
Ensuring all new drivers (Agency) are licenced checked, assessed and inducted prior to first shift
Monitoring & managing information from the vehicle telematics system
Undertaking H&S tasks e.g. yard walks, vehicle checks
Despatch loads and prepare paperwork.
Assist transport manager with purchase orders
Ensure all areas of Health and Safety are adhered to, and correct use of safety footwear and ear protection always.
Adhere to department housekeeping, ensuring all areas and workstations are kept tidy, safe and in full working order.
Any other reasonable duties asked to undertake.
Work within the guidelines of the companies Health and Safety Policy.
Provide cover for the Transport Planner

Qualifications & Skills - REQUIREDED:
Good Geographical Knowledge
Experience of working in a busy transport office
Knowledge and Experience Using / Maintaining Paragon Transport Routing Software
Knowledge and Experience Using Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system.
Monitoring and Recording of Driver Hours in Line with the Road Transport Directive.
Communication With Our Associates and Stakeholders
Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
Knowledge and Experience of Using / Reporting Satellite Tracking Systems
Ability to Create Professional Reports and data processing.
Qualifications & Skills - preferred:
Mangers CPC desired but not essential
