An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit a motivated, organised and dedicated Band 2 receptionist / clerk for the Trauma and Orthopaedic department in the Royal Lancaster Infirmary where we run all local trauma clinics and elective outpatient services.
This post plays a key role in the receiving and welcoming patients and visitors to the Trauma and Orthopaedic Outpatient department whilst also handling all telephone enquiries for that service.
The working days for this post are Mon, Tue & Fri 08:30-17:00.
The role will be to support the Medical and nursing team with clerical duties to ensure the smooth running of the department providing a high patient satisfaction experience. Booking in and discharging patients along side the cashing and outcoming of all patient attendances.
The main duties of the role will be acting as the receptionist / clerical worker for a busy department in The Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
You will work alongside a small team of receptionists / clerical workers to make sure that all visitors / patients are welcomed to the department and all phone calls are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner.
You will help with the smooth running the department by providing any clerical duties for the medical and nursing team . Whilst also ensuring patients are kept up to date with waiting times and any delays on a daily basis.
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
