MATERNITY COVER - 12 MONTHS CONTRACT /SECONDMENT





Base: St Helier Hospital



Working hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm / 9am - 5pm



We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our friendly fracture clinic administration team within the Trauma & Orthopaedic department. This role will be based at St Helier Hospital.



The post holders will support the provision of the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement.



Based in a specialty clinical team, the post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients' pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment and discharge.



To provide a patient-focused service that supports clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that patients are fit, willing and able to be treated and that they are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.



The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care and will ensure clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact.

We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional candidate to join the Epsom & St Helier's Trauma & Orthopaedic administrative team.



The successful candidate will support the provision of the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement. They will be able to demonstrate advanced communication and organisational skills, be able to use their own initiative and show problem solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and a passion for patient care is essential.



Based in T & O, the post holder will be the point of contact for all fracture clinic administrative and clerical issues relating to a patient's fracture pathway whilst under the orthopaedic services care, tracking and booking orthopaedic appointments. To provide a patient focused service that supports clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensures that patients are fit, willing and able to be treated and that they are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.



The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care and will ensure clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact. They must ideally have PAS IT system and MS Excel knowledge.

Essential criteria




Good general education with GCSE or equivalent in English at grade C or above

Desirable criteria




ECDL NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Care of equivalent #

Experience of using a full range of IT/Patient administration systems Experience of patient administration work in an NHS setting

Desirable criteria




Previous Trauma & Orthopaedic experience Experience of booking surgical procedures #

Skills and Knowledge

Experience dealing with customer complaints and customer care The ability to prioritise tasks effectively without direct supervision Good verbal and written communication Computer literate, with experience of using a keyboard Knowledge of NHS service provision including the pathway of care and RTT Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets e.g. PAS, Excel or similar applications Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection principles
