Treasure House Attendants (Casual) Job description

East Riding Museums Service is seeking to recruit a creative and friendly person to join our team.
The post holder will work as a casual attendant at Beverley Art Gallery and Treasure House, covering gaps in the existing rota, as well as cover for annual leave and sickness absence. This will be explained in more detail should you be shortlisted.
The postholder may also be asked to work Saturdays and occasional evenings. The focus of the role is to deliver first class visitor services. You will also maintain a safe and secure environment by invigilation reporting issues to your line manager or other services in the Champney Treasure House as appropriate, as well as providing a welcoming atmosphere.
The successful candidate will have some relevant knowledge/and background experience, with a proven ability to work in a customer facing role i.e., friendly/and upbeat An ability to deliver an outstanding customer experience is essential.
In addition to this, the postholder may have to deal with unexpected situations.
Excellent communication and IT skills are also essential Good self -motivation and organisational skills are also key. As are dealing with telephone, email and in-person enquiries.
Duties will include a hands-on approach to assisting with exhibition changeovers and new collection displays, as well as exhibition openings and special events.
They will also include supporting the Learning team by assisting with educational activities/events.
East Riding Museums is a member of The Humber Museums Partnership which was accorded Major Partner Museums Status in 2015 and National Portfolio Organisation Status in 2018.
