Sheffield Forgemasters is an iconic steel production and engineering company. A global leader in the designing, manufacturing and delivering of world-class steel forgings and castings.
It is a great time to join Forgemasters, as the business goes through an ongoing period of growth and modernisation after being acquired by the UK Ministry of Defence In 2021. The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Treasurer, for a 12 month fixed term contract for maternity cover. This role will involve the overall management of bank accounts within the group, maintenance of cash books, and financial analysis & reporting.
Role Responsibilities
Manage the organisation's cash flow, monitor liquidity, and optimise the use of funds to meet financial obligations.
Reconciliation of cash books on a daily basis, daily bank reconciliations on the accounting system and General Ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
Assess financial risks, including foreign exchange risk and set up new foreign exchange hedges on a monthly basis, where required.
Maintain up-to-date banking mandates & any other associated administrative duties.

• Perform drawdown / equity requests / paybacks, where applicable, to cover all payment requirements and ensuring target balances are maintained.

• Regular and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting including, but not limited to: Accounts receivable balances, stock movements, liquidity forecasts, foreign exchange rates & forecasts and financial charges.

About You
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.
Previous experience of working within a similar role is a distinct advantage, however strong experience working in a accounts / finance role is essential.
A good working knowledge of MS Excel is required for this role.
Ability to prioritise workload.
Foreign Exchange and Hedging knowledge is an advantage, but not essential.
Days/Hours of Work
This role offers flexibility to work part time, 22.5 hours (3 days) or up to 37.5 hours (5 days) per week. Hours to be undertaken between Monday - Friday, with flexible start and finish time between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 - 18:00.
