Join Close Brothers Treasury Team where you will work closely with Treasury front office and be responsible for controlling and reporting on the transactions that they undertake, taking ownership of the daily control processes including Daily risk and limit reporting, price verification and profit and loss reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Risk Reporting
Preparing and distributing Treasury's daily Interest Rate Risk report, monitoring limits for EVE & EAR, explaining movements, reporting limit breaches, and verifying remediating trades.
Preparing and distributing Treasury's daily Liquidity Report analysing and verifying day on day movements.
Daily monitoring and reporting of Credit limits and reporting any credit rating changes.
Daily monitoring and reporting of Fx Limits
Monthly Responsibilities
Maintaining the Treasury Finance derivative portfolio including valuation checks to counterparty statements and reconciliation to the financial statements.
Maintenance of the Treasury Finance Security portfolios including preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Preparing the daily P&L Report, explaining movements, and reconciling to the financial statement.
Assisting the Finance team to perform the monthly close process, ensuring that relevant controls operate effectively and that all variances are adequately explained.
Quarterly / Semi Annual Responsibilities
Provide information for the completion of the Financial Statements, explaining period movements where required.
Assist the team in completing a clean audit.
Provide information for the quarterly FINREP return.
Hedge Accounting
Work closely with the Hedge accountant to be able to cover the hedge accounting month end process in case they are not available
Risk & Compliance
Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
Working towards an accounting or finance qualification
Good Excel / IT skills and competent at working with large volumes of data
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to identify and remediate key control issues
Good attention to detail
Strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
Must have a curious and proactive mind-set and understand the 'why'; not afraid to question and challenge
Able to work in fast paced environments
Must work well within teams and able to engage with a variety of people across multiple departments.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
Qualified or part qualified accountant
An understanding of Treasury operations and of the key drivers of value within the business
Previous experience working in banking finance
Experience with SAP general ledger
Experience with Bloomberg
Experience with FIS - Quantum Treasury management system
