, you will oversee a small team comprising an Arborist and a Junior Arborist across the southern regions. You will be responsible for preserving, planting, protecting, pruning, and felling trees, hedgerows, and shrubs to the highest standards.
This role combines hands-on tree work with team leadership, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and the safety of your team and the public. You will play a key part in maintaining tree health and safety, delivering value for money, and sharing best practice across the organisation.

What we're looking for
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and inclusive professional who can lead by example and deliver high-quality arboriculture services. You will have:
Proven experience in arboriculture, including pruning, felling, planting, and maintaining tree health and safety.
Skill in operating and maintaining tools and machinery such as chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and aerial lifts.
Experience delivering customer-focused services and achieving high standards of client satisfaction.
Knowledge of a range of tree species, their growth habits, and disease identification.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
A consistent approach to health and safety compliance, safeguarding yourself, your team, and the public.
A valid UK driving licence and experience operating company vehicles safely.
Leadership and Team Skills:
Ability to lead, support and motivate a team to deliver excellent services.
Experience conducting performance reviews and development conversations.
Effective communication and organisational skills, with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
Ability to share knowledge and best practice to continually improve service delivery.
Qualifications and Practical Knowledge
City & Guilds NPTC/Lantra Qualification in Arboriculture or Horticulture (Level 3)
IPAF 3a, 3b and 1b Operator (cherry picker/MEWP)
CS30 (201/202) - Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting
CS31 (203) - Felling Small Trees
CS32 (301) - Felling Medium Trees
CS40 (307) - Pruning
NPTC - Chipper Operations
Broad knowledge of trees, shrubs, and pruning techniques
Confident climbing ability and safe working at height
Understanding of site safety, risk assessment, and complex arboriculture operations
Ability to use mobile devices (tablets, smartphones) and Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams
Additional requirements
A full UK driving licence (trailer entitlement desirable)
A positive, proactive attitude and commitment to completing work safely and efficiently
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across teams and regions
Commitment to providing inclusive, high-quality customer service
Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging or changing situations
Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
