Duties



Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods efficiently and safely. Plan routes in advance to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in safe working condition. Secure loads properly on flatbeds, adhering to safety standards and regulations. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transit. Comply with all road safety laws, traffic regulations, and company policies during operations. Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.

Requirements



Valid driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorry operation. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role, preferably with flatbed experience. Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws within the UK. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record. Ability to plan routes efficiently and adapt to changing schedules or conditions. Good organisational skills and attention to detail for handling documentation accurately. Physical fitness to load, unload, and secure cargo as required. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; punctuality is essential for timely deliveries.
