The Bishop Fraser Trust is seeking a Trust Teacher of Science, to be deployed in no less than termly blocks, to support science teaching across our four secondary schools which include Canon Slade, Bolton St Catherine's Academy, St James's CE High and Bury CE High School. As a Trust we place great value on Science, ensuring equitable access to separate sciences and enjoying a healthy uptake at A-Level. The position is to help bolster progress and attainment through additional capacity and help all pupils develop a love of science.

We are seeking a passionate CANDIDATE who:

Has a sound and developed knowledge of your subject and of its examination specifications. Has the ability and/or experience to teach Science at KS3, KS4 and preferably KS5 although we can put this training in. Can create and maintain a disciplined and stimulating environment in which all students are well motivated and learn. Promotes the appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of your subject, being passionate about teaching it well. Monitors students' progress and create opportunities for all students to reach their full potential. Establishes good working relationships with students and colleagues and with the wider school community. Makes excellent and inventive use of available resources to assist in teaching and learning. Follows departmental schemes of work and assessments in planning work with each group. Completes regular assessments of students' work, providing them with feedback which allows them to make progress. Contributes to the production of resources. Attends and contributes to departmental meetings and contribute to departmental policies and developments. Attends evening meetings as required, including with parents. Keeps up to date records. Contributes to the production of examination papers and marking them when appropriate. Ensures that the requirements of external examinations are met. Ensures that the Teachers' Standards are met or exceeded in all your work.

To teach your subject at all levels and to all abilities, seeking to ensure that all pupils make very good progress, enjoy their learning, and become well educated. To contribute more widely to the well-being of our pupils, through being a form tutor, undertaking duties, and being a role model for them for their learning and their conduct.
