An important part of our role is to deliver Health & Wellbeing programmes to learners who may be facing mental health challenges, long-term unemployment, or transitions in life and work. We are looking for a passionate, engaging, and experienced Tutor to deliver these courses in a compassionate and learner-focused environment.

Main purpose
To plan, deliver and assess engaging courses, linked to the business need of the company.
To plan, deliver and assess engaging, learner-centred Health and Wellbeing/Employability/Digital courses that promote positive mental health, self-esteem, resilience, and lifestyle awareness. And moving learners forward into a positive destination ( Further Education, employment or volunteering.)
To support adults and young people with varying levels of confidence and needs--creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering learning experience.
Promote learners' independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
Give support to learners, individually or in groups, so they can access the sessions, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement
Duties and responsibilities
Teaching and learning
Plan and deliver a range of accredited and non-accredited pathway in the subject areas of: Health & Wellbeing, Employability and Digital.
Create inclusive lesson plans and learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs, in line with awarding body requirements and internal schemes of work.
Provide one-to-one learner support, including advice, signposting, and mentoring.
Embed safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety throughout all teaching practices.
Complete learner enrolment, initial assessment, progress reviews and evaluations.
Support positive learner outcomes, including progression to employment, further learning, or improved self-management of health and wellbeing
Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to increase achievement of all learners including, where appropriate, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
Maintain a safe learning environment
Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
Document learners' achievements, mark work in a timely manner,
Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and outcomes.
Proficient in IT (Microsoft Teams, basic online platforms and digital resources.
Undertake any other relevant duties given by Operations Lead
Planning
Contribute to effective assessment and planning by supporting the monitoring, recording and reporting of learner's performance and progress.
Read and understand session plans shared prior to lessons.
Prepare the room for sessions.
Use allocated time to devise clearly structured activities that interest and motivate learners and advance their learning
Plan how they will support the inclusion of learners in all activities.
Working with staff and relevant professionals
Communicate effectively with other staff members and learners.
Work collaboratively with the wider Uplift team, including coaches, admin staff, and compliance officers.
Communicate their knowledge and understanding of learners to other staff and other professionals when needed professionals.
Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues
Health and safety
Promote the safety and wellbeing of learners, and help to safeguard learners' wellbeing by following Uplift's safeguarding policy.
Ensure the room, and building, is free from risk.
Professional development
Help keep their own knowledge and understanding relevant and up-to-date by reflecting on their own practice, liaising with leaders, and identifying relevant professional development to improve personal effectiveness
Take opportunities to build the appropriate skills, qualifications, and/or experience needed for the role, with support from Uplift
Take part in Uplift's appraisal procedures
Safeguarding
Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance and policies.
Promote the safeguarding of all learners.
The tutor will be required to follow Uplift policies and the staff code of conduct.

Qualifications
Recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g. Level 4 Award in Education & Training, PTLLS or above).
GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and maths
Desirable
L3 or above qualification in Counselling, Mental Health First Aid, Coaching or similar.
Experience working with NEET learners, jobseekers, or adults returning to learning.
Understanding of OFSTED expectations, ILPs, and funding requirements.
