We are looking for an engaged Visual Design Lead to join us. In this role, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of designers, product, engineers, and researchers committed to designing products and services for our customers. You will play a critical role in leading and creating visual design at Chase UK.

This role requires a deep understanding of visual design for digital products and services. A balanced understanding of colour, iconography, typography, interaction, motion, and UI layout is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely in a multi-disciplinary team of product designers, researchers, technologists, and business experts to ensure deliverables are consistent with the visual design principles, brand, and Design Systems.
  • Collaborate with the Design Director and Design Leads to guide the future development and direction of our product\xe2\x80\x99s visual language.
  • Create and deliver high-quality visual design outcomes like UI layouts, components, and supporting documentation.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to ensure the delivery of visual designs are implemented effectively through product design to engineering build to deployment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the visual design of our digital experiences based on our visual design principles and informed by analytics, insights, and customer data.
  • Having a deep understanding of the business drivers behind the product goals. Proactively contribute to Design Systems.
  • Lead, manage and mentor other visual designers in the team.
  • Lead on visual design governance and consistency to ensure high quality design outcomes across products.
  • Present and communicate the visual design direction with clarity and creative vision to designers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Champion accessibility and usability through visual, interface and interaction design.
Requirements:
  • Hands on experience in roles such as Senior or Lead Visual / UI Designer is required, experience at client side is beneficial.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of visual design fundamentals (colour, iconography, typography, structure, and visual hierarchy) and solid application of user interface (usability, comprehension, and accessibility). Examples of interaction design (aesthetics, animations, motion, and transitions).
  • Experience of creating and driving visual design strategy, design practices and principles.
  • Effective communication of visual design solutions across roles & levels.
  • Expert knowledge of modern design tools (we use Figma), prototyping software and Design Systems.
  • Awareness and practical understanding of current technologies, and their application and relevance to digital experiences.
  • Experience of managing and mentoring team members in a manager or team lead role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. An ability to actively listen, hear and understand what is said and not said, with nuanced comprehension of meaning and intent.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment. You are effectively manage high work volumes and processing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable developing and sustaining cooperative working relationships with peers, managers and other internal or external stakeholders.
  • A passion for helping create an environment where people can do their best work.
  • Flexibility/adaptability (ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus).
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent professional experience.
