About Hultsteins:



Hultsteins is a manufacturer and distributor of diesel free temperature-controlled solutions. The company has been designing and producing hydraulic drive transport refrigeration systems for over 60 years in Sweden and launched in the UK during 2019. Our aim is to drive the industry forwards with innovation and technology whilst helping our customers work towards their sustainability goals. We manufacture our own products Ecogen a hydraulic electric generator and Ecofridge a hydraulic fridge unit on site in Sweden. As well as this we also distribute other products such as air curtains and Orbcomm temperature telematics.

Due to continued growth as the overall industry is adapting to more sustainable solutions for temperature-controlled transport, we need to continue to expand our team. At Hultsteins we pride ourselves on being a small team with big achievements, we are hardworking but also have a genuine work life balance.

To support the growth and development of the business within the UK temperature-controlled transport industry we have identified a requirement for further attention in business development. Therefore, we are seeking a business development manager for the UK. The successful candidate will work closely with our UK managing director who leads sales.

This is a full-time hybrid role with regular commuting to the Biggleswade office required.

The Job



The overall objective for this role is to grow and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships. The business is a fast-paced environment which requires ownership, accountability and multi-tasking, but this should not be achieved at the expense of attention to detail.

Whilst we are primarily looking for someone with strong business development experience, we also hope to find a willingness and ability to roll up the sleeves and get stuck in with the wider team.

Applicant must hold a valid full UK driving licence.

As the UK sales manager, you

must

be able to demonstrate experience and capability in the following areas:

- Deep knowledge and understanding of the refrigeration/HVAC/Hydraulic industry (not all 3 are essential but the idea candidate would be able to demonstrate understanding in at least one area).

- Cold calling.

- Planning and prioritising sales activities.

- Engaging proactively and regularly with key customers face-to-face, on the phone and using video conferencing to acquire a thorough understanding of customer needs (some travel will be required from time-to-time).

- Supporting the development of new customers and markets.

- Supporting customers and prospects with product evaluations and trials to promote sales opportunities.

- Arranging and carrying out business reviews of all customer accounts, preparing account plans and monitoring these regularly with the objective of nurturing the relationships and proposing solutions that meet their needs.

- Carrying out market research and lead generation in conjunction with the wider business development/marketing function.

- Promoting the company's products, services and capabilities and protecting its reputation in the market.

- Liaising with internal functions to agree commercial proposals and effectively using these in customer negotiations.

- Delivering presentations to customers.

- Attending trade shows and networking events.

- Being a first point of contact for key accounts for any issues pre- or post-sale and taking responsibility for seeing the issues through to resolution in conjunction with other internal functions.

- Processing sales orders and ensuring the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner by liaising with other internal functions.

- Facilitating customer set up, both in gathering information for our internal records and in satisfying customer onboarding processes.

- Supporting the wider sales function with administration tasks required for managing key sales accounts.

- Liaising with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal running of all accounts.

- Keeping records of customer interactions via CRM.

Other desirable criteria include:

- Experience within the commercial vehicle sector.

Salary and Benefits package:

- Salary 40K-50K depending on experience
