Exciting opportunity to join Beazley's Finance team. We are looking for a Tax Assistant [based in Birmingham?] on a six month fixed term contract to help support the team.

The tax team is currently 11 people and we need additional resource to manage our growing responsibilities.

Job Title: Tax Assistant (6 months FTC)



Division: Tax / Finance

Key Relationships:

Finance team, Underwriters, Tax Advisors and Auditors.

Job Summary:

A key role in our tax team, supporting the rest of the tax team managing tax compliance and reporting obligations as well as supporting the business on tax queries.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation and submission of corporation tax returns, VAT returns and insurance premium tax returns as needed for group entities. Assist with payments across Europe. Assisting with tax accounting and reporting for entity and consolidated financial statements. Assisting on other tax and finance projects. Ad hoc tax or accounting tasks including co-ordination and collection of information to prepare internal reports. Support the wider tax team (11 people) with other areas of taxation as required. Help produce management information for internal stakeholders, showing the work of the tax team. To comply with relevant Beazley procedures and policies.

Skills and Abilities

Must be able to work as part of a team Computer skills - Excel in particular Good interpersonal and communication skills Proactive, self-starter, seeks continuous improvement Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise

Knowledge and Experience

University degree in finance/ business/ accounting preferred Tax / accounting qualification (ATT/CTA/ACCA/ACA) (including part-qualified or willingness to study towards one) also desirable.
