Small Steps is looking for an experienced, kind, enthusiastic and caring level 3 Nursery Room Leader to join our team.
The Role:
As Room Leader, you will take the lead, providing a loving and stimulating environment for children aged 0-2 years. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily running of the room, supporting your team, and building strong relationships with families.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the room team in delivering outstanding care and early years education
Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS
Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment
Build strong partnerships with parents, keeping them informed of their child's development
Monitor and support the development of individual children through observations and assessments
Support and mentor junior staff members, fostering a collaborative team spirit
Requirements:
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years
Experience working with children aged 0-2 years, ideally in a leadership or senior practitioner role
A genuine passion for early years development and a nurturing personality
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Sound knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety procedures
The successful candidate will have experience working with children and has a passion for childcare. The applicant will need to be creative, have an ability to build relationships and a passion for caring for children with a sense of humour. The successful candidate will be responsible You will be responsible for the wellbeing and care of the children, monitoring development stages and supporting staff within the room and communicating as necessary with parents and out side agencies
The successful candidate will:
Hold a level 3, NNEB, NVQ, Cache or recognised equivalent Early Years Childcare / Nursery Nurse qualification
You will have a good understanding of the EYFS and able to observe, support and extend children's learning.
Ensure children receive a rich and stimulating play experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development within the setting.
You will be able to develop effective positive working relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
You will be enthusiastic, have a positive attitude and a passion for working with children.
Excellent communication both written and verbal.
An understanding of Nursery safeguarding policies and procedures
