The Role of the underwriter:
You will be responsible for managing your own pipeline of loan applications from initial enquiry through to completion. You will serve as a crucial point of contact for brokers and other third parties, applying your expertise to make informed lending decisions while upholding our commitment to speed and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Manage loan applications from start to finish, ensuring all required documentation is collected and verified.
  • Credit Analysis: Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial documents, property valuations, and credit histories to assess risk and make sound lending decisions.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and other third parties to ensure a smooth and efficient underwriting process.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring all loans adhere to our credit policy and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside senior team members, and for experienced candidates, provide mentorship to junior underwriters.
Requirements for the successful candidate:
We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, proactive, and have excellent communication skills.
  • For Entry-Level Candidates: You will have some prior experience within a finance or property-related role (e.g., administrator, case manager, or assistant). You will be a quick learner with a strong analytical mindset and a desire to build a career in underwriting.
  • For Experienced Candidates: You will have a proven track record of underwriting bridging or buy-to-let loans and be comfortable managing your own pipeline. You will be confident in your decision-making and have a solid understanding of the UK property lending market.
