Q Underwriting (part of PIB Group) is a specialist MGA providing more than 30 niche commercial lines products. A robust and reliable partner for brokers, we work with several A?rated insurers and write premiums under delegated underwriting authority.


We're now looking for an experienced Underwriter, to join our team, focusing on Property, Casualty and Commercial Combined for our Charity, Faith and Recruitment products.

What you'll be doing

Managing new business enquiries and/or owning a portfolio of existing business - handling renewals and MTAs for our broker partners. Providing accurate, compliant underwriting within your personal authority, aligned to our underwriting guides, strategy, and pricing levels. Proactively engaging with brokers for New Business enquiries or allocated renewals to secure instructions, hit retention targets and support portfolio growth. Overseeing all associated administration - policy documentation, mid?term adjustments, renewal reviews, new business broker negotiation and basic claims monitoring. Acting as a technical referral point and mentor for team members; supporting training and knowledge sharing across the team.

What we're looking for

Strong background in Property, Casualty and Commercial Combined underwriting (c. 5 years' P&C experience). Ideally some exposure to the Charity and Faith (and/or Recruitment) sectors - desirable but not essential Proven track record of achieving new business and/or retention objectives in a commercial underwriting environment. Solid knowledge of Property & Casualty wordings, products and underwriting guidelines (renewals, endorsements, cancellations etc.). Understanding of the UK broker market and how to build and develop effective broker relationships.. CII Certificate, ideally working towards Diploma or ACII.
