What Is the Opportunity?

Bond and Specialty Insurance provides Financial Lines insurance for Small, Medium and Large sized businesses through our Broker networks.




We are looking for a Temporary Underwriting Assistant to support our PI underwriting team during their busy renewals seasons for a period of 6 months. You will support the Underwriters with processing and inputting new business, renewals and MTAs. You will use systems to enter quotes in a timely manger and support the team by handing queries and preparing documentation.

What Will You Do?

Triage, process and input New Business, Renewals and mid-term adjustments on the relevant IT systems. Utilise appropriate systems to accurately enter quotes, risks and endorsements, so as to ensure correct management, statistical and regulatory reporting. Ensure timely entry of risks into the relevant systems via Shared Services Review aggregation data, respond to queries and ensure it is accurately entered into the systems where required. Obtain required information for local policies, liaising with the local team and underwriters. Support Underwriters by handling queries and preparing documentation for renewals and broker meetings. Assist with pricing and classifying risks in accordance with the Underwriting Guidelines and rating considerations. Liaison with the Risk Control, Claims, Marketing, Distribution, Financial and Actuarial departments as required. Assist Operations or Credit Control with resolving queries on overdue premium, tax queries or aged debt. Prepare loss reports for Brokers. Conduct research for Senior Underwriters as directed e.g. review of trade press, financial/credit scoring information etc. Work effectively with colleagues at all levels within Underwriting and across the business support functions such as Operations, Actuarial and Finance. Perform other duties as assigned.

What is a Must Have?

A-Levels or similar qualification.
