Underwriting Transformation Consultant

------------------------------------------

Use your underwriting expertise to help shape the design and build of NFU Mutual's new Policy Administration System.
Join NFU Mutual's largest transformation programme, collaborating with underwriting experts to drive real impact
Role can be based from Head Office or any of our regional service centres (Stratford upon Avon, York, Bristol, Glasgow, or Belfast) with monthly visits to Stratford Upon Avon and 80% working from home

About the role

------------------

We're on an exciting journey at NFU Mutual as we bring our insurance products online through BRIDGE+, our internal transformational programme. As part of this evolution, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Underwriter to join the programme as an Underwriting Transformation Consultant.

This is a unique chance to play a key role in shaping the future of underwriting at NFU Mutual. You'll be at the heart of our Policy Administration System implementation. Using your underwriting expertise, you'll help streamline processes and improve ways of working, allowing underwriters to focus on complex risks while enabling more straight-through processing for our agencies and sales & service teams.

In this role, you'll:

Translate underwriting appetite into practical rules and requirements.
Collaborate with workstreams across the Programme to shape policy management processes and operating procedures.
Influence decisions that drive continuous improvement and deliver meaningful change.
Support the wider programme with expert underwriting input.
Champion the rollout of the new system by shaping learning materials and supporting successful adoption across the business.

If you're passionate about underwriting and excited by the prospect of driving meaningful transformation, this role offers a brilliant opportunity to make a real impact.

About you

-------------

We're looking for an experienced Underwriter with a strong background in Commercial Underwriting and an analytical mindset to help shape the future of our underwriting processes. You'll bring a deep understanding of underwriting risks, best practices, and the UK insurance market, along with the insight to anticipate trends that may impact our business. Expertise in Policy Administration System (PAS) builds, systems changes, or Guidewire experience is also valuable.

We're also looking for:

Forward-thinking & problem solving mindset

- You can think outside the box, challenge the status quo, and offer innovative ideas on how we adopt change and design more effective processes.

Judgement & decision-making

- You're comfortable making impactful decisions, even with limited information, and can confidently weigh up long-term consequences.

Strong collaboration skills

- You build and maintain productive relationships at all levels, working seamlessly across teams and functions.

Communication & influence

- You can clearly articulate complex ideas, influence stakeholders, and constructively challenge viewpoints to drive positive change.

Change & transformation experience

- While not essential, experience in process improvement, transformation projects, or a PolicyCenter build would be a definite advantage.

Agility & adaptability

- You're comfortable working in a dynamic environment, quickly adjusting to new information, shifting priorities, and evolving demands.

If you're ready to use your expertise to shape the future of underwriting, drive transformation, and influence meaningful change, we'd love to hear from you!
