Development & Learning Opportunities (DALO) is a day service for young adults who have learning and/or physical disabilities. We support them to maintain & build their life skills through a programme of activities which have a specific focus on social interaction & community access. Our day centre is an unashamedly colourful, vibrant and exciting place to work, and somewhere that both our staff and members (our word for 'clients') feel at home! We also have a sister company which provides supported living & respite services to this clientele.

The role:



We're on the lookout for a Unit Driver who will provide transport services to and from our day centre and support the members in their activities throughout the day. A standard day would therefore entail starting at about 8.30am and picking up the members from their home and bringing them to the day centre. You would then support the members throughout the day in their activities until about 15.15 when you would then take the members back home.

To support the successful candidate in their personal growth and development, you will have the opportunity to be enrolled onto a Health & Social Care (Level 2 or 3) course and have access to a range of other training specialist training courses.

Requirements:



At least 3 years' experience driving a range of passenger vehicles (5, 7, 9 and 12 seats). A D1 licence is desirable but not a prerequisite Organised, reliable and with a clean driving licence Strong communication skills, including good written & verbal English language skills Compassionate and caring personality Previous experience working in a health & social care setting or with vulnerable other vulnerable groups (e.g. children)
