Job Description

The successful Data Architect will be working within Data Services reporting to the Chief Data Officer and is accountable for the company's wide Data Architecture, Design and Solutions for all data related capabilities and deliverables.
Responsible for driving the current state architecture, the future state architecture, and a roadmap to getting there. This includes establishing reference architecture, leading data architecture forums, supervising and enforcing principles related to data management and governance within the organisation (primarily as defined by the Data Architecture Standards and associated procedures) as well as increasing the degree of awareness about the importance of its compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving the approach, definition and implementation of data architecture principles, standards and capabilities across Bank UK.
Establishment of a Target State Data Architecture and associated Frameworks
Ongoing review of Bank Data design and solution for key initiatives across the bank
Supporting delivering solutions for Data Management, Data Privacy and Data Science related capabilities
Identifying and evaluating new products, vendors and solutions that support long term target state architecture goals.
Coordinating and leading the key Data Architecture forums.
Supporting the Data Design Authority that is chaired by CDO.
Work with 2nd Line and 3rd Line to ensure that the Data Controls associated with data architecture and design addresses appropriate risks.
Establish partnership with Group and other countries in sharing best practices and adhering to global standards and principles.
Collaborate with UK Enterprise Architect and support target state architecture goals for Enterprise Architecture within UK
Required Skills:
Solid practical experience in Data controls, Risks, Assurance, Data Governance and Data Management
Experience in shaping and implementing Data Governance related Policies, Frameworks, Standards
Knowledge of external bodies, frameworks, models in support of Data Governance
Ability to explain complex/technical concepts to the business
Ability to articulate the link between data issues and the associated Business risk.
Experience with BCBS 239 principles
