The Department of Music seeks a qualified University Teacher whose expertise cover both classical performance and music industry studies. This role supports ongoing teaching activity during the departments delivery commitments to externally funded grants (AHRC Creative Clusters award MusicFutures; AHRC Catalyst award The Live Music Mapping Project 2.0: Automating the Mapping, Modelling and Measuring of the Impacts of Regional Live Music Sectors).
Duties will include independent and team-based classroom teaching, performance workshops, assessment, and support to the student experience.
You should have an Undergraduate degree in Music or a Masters degree in Music or a subject relevant to the post (or relevant qualifications or professional experience). You should also have training in music education / music pedagogy.
The role is part-time 0.39FTE from 15/09/25 to 31/10/26, decreasing to 0.28FTE from 01/11/26 to 31/01/30, with classroom duties requiring presence on campus on three days per week during the two main teaching periods (late September until May), and with hybrid working possible during the summer.
Unfortunately, this role is not eligible for sponsorship under the skilled worker route, you will therefore have to demonstrate your own right to work in the UK.
