Job Description

Provide specialist nursing with a defined case load for benign patients including the setting of standards of care, assessment of care needs and the development and implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. To act as a link between the MDT and other primary and secondary care providers to provide a seamless pathway of care to patients across all Upper GI services. Provide a nursing contribution to policy and clinical service development within the upper GI service. Contribute to the Trust strategic agenda.

Act as a key point of contact to ensure timely care and treatment for all patients on a upper GI pathway. Delivery of review/benign outpatient clinics. Support the Upper GI Consultant Surgeons in results clinics. To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.

This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
