Used Car Buyer

to work with

Johnsons Cars

across the UK.

As a Used Car Buyer, reporting to the Group Used Car Franchise director, you will work within the Group Sales Department, You will optimise pre-owned stock holding by making considered purchases for your designated Centres to maximise the stock levels, stock turn, model mix and price profile.

Basic Salary of 30,000 and uncapped bonus.

Role and Responsibilities:

Sourcing and purchasing an agreed volume of vehicles via trade contacts and private sellers Building relationships with Centres Used Car Managers Accurately appraising vehicles, considering mileage, condition, specification, and market desirability Using valuation tools, market data, and experience to determine fair purchase prices to maximise profitability Maintaining the correct mix of vehicles for the designated dealerships to suit market demand and sales objectives. Tracking competitor activity, pricing, and market shifts Providing regular feedback to management on market conditions Identifying opportunities for profitable acquisitions and new stock channels Ensure all purchases are processed correctly Adhere to all legal, and company compliance requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience as a Used Car Buyer, Vehicle Purchaser, or in a similar role Strong knowledge of the used car market, pricing, and industry trends Ability to accurately appraise vehicles based on mileage, condition, and desirability Confident negotiator with excellent communication and influencing skills Commercial awareness with focus on profitability, margins, and stock turn Advanced use of valuation platforms Experience using auction platforms and stock management tools
