About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Library's User Experience team as a User Experience Assistant Library Officer.

In this exciting role you will help us to deliver an excellent customer service by providing information, advice and guidance to users of the Library while working on our service points.

Service points such as the Library Service Desk and online chat provide important channels through which our users can seek support and are a vital part of user experience in the Library.

You will also use library systems to rota colleagues across these multiple service points, assessing potential issues and referring to the User Experience Librarian where necessary.

An important part of this role will be the daily checking and scheduling of the rota to support the User Experience Librarian in the effective day-to-day running of our service points.

You will support the User Experience Librarian to maintain important training and reference documentation for staff working on the service points and ensure procedural updates are delivered to staff in a timely and effective manner.

You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with Library colleagues in order to successfully complete the rota. This will include alerting colleagues to open shifts and co-ordinating cover as required, using established procedures.

About you

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual with keen attention to detail, who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, organisational capacity and the interpersonal skills to liaise with colleagues across the Library in order to complete the rota.

You will also be confident communicating with a wide range of customers while working on our service points. Having an interest in helping people and an ability to problem-solve will be crucial.
