About the Role
Rainton Construction are looking for skilled multi-discipline Utility Groundworkers to join our well-established team on various ongoing and upcoming Framework projects. This role is suited to those with strong knowledge and experience in Water and/or Power utilities, who take pride in their work and are committed to maintaining a safe, high-quality and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
Report to Site Managers and Site Supervisors, overseeing projects whilst contributing to a positive and efficient working environment.
Carry out a variety of groundworks and civil engineering activities such as site preparation, excavations, pipe installation, jointing or welding, duct installation, and concrete operations, amongst others.
Assist with the repair or replacement of existing utility infrastructure such as pipe work, valves, meters, chambers, etc.
Carry out reinstatement of roads, verges, footpaths or hardstands following completion of the below-ground tasks.
Operate plant and equipment to assist with various activities (where trained and competent).
Requirements
Proven utility and groundworks experience
Knowledge and training in pipe and duct installation, jointing, welding and reinstatement techniques
Thorough understanding and appreciation for health and safety regulations on construction and utility projects
Punctual, reliable and committed to maintaining safe, high-quality standards at all times
Plant operator tickets desirable, including excavator (below and above 10T), ride-on roller, forward tipping dumper
Relevant certification/competencies:
CSCS card - skilled worker and above
CPCS or NPORS (with CSCS logo displayed)
HSG47 CAT and Genny training
EUSR Water or Power advantageous
The role is primarily based in the Northeast, however you may be required to work on any site on which we operate within the UK so a full driving licence is advantageous.
