WHAT TO EXPECT

This exciting role exists to support the UX Research Chapter within Vehicle Engineering. The UX Research team forms part of a larger Human Centred Design focussed group, working alongside UX Design, and Behavioural Research teams.

You will lead a team responsible for conducting and embedding UX Research into in-vehicle UX. You will continue to develop our Human Centric Design methodologies, ensuring the appropriate and timely use of process/tools/methods to achieve clear and applicable rules, frameworks, and insights. You will help the team to build and disseminate a strong scientific knowledge base with an understanding of the current development of human machine interfaces (especially automotive).

You will additionally be responsible for team member\'s personal growth, performance, managing team workload, and continuous development of process, tools and methods.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Manage UX Research activities across all programmes, and gateways
  • Developing scientific principles for future vehicle interfaces
  • Build principles for user interface design based on underlying science, and latest standards/regulations
  • Guide UX designers on scientific foundations, and make clear recommendations based on research/insights
  • Build a strong scientific knowledge base with an understanding of the current development of human machine interfaces - especially automotive.
  • Lead the personal and professional development of your team
  • Develop the existing UX Research approach, process, tools and methods
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Essential:
  • Previous experience leading UX research teams/activities.
  • A thorough understanding of User Centred Design tools and methodologies, and how to best apply them to efficiently realise insights which can be built into product.
  • Customer first mindset, easy to do business with, and makes people feel special, driven to deliver experiences that are personalised, transparent and dependable.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Highly self-motivated, excellent personal management skills (having experience of handling and prioritising multiple tasks) and comfortable coordinating the activities of others.
  • A caring and considerate leader applying the JLR Creators Code.
  • Resilient and enthusiastic when facing obstacles or pressure
