Role Overview





As a UX Researcher at SubSea Craft, you will play a critical role in helping us understand user behaviour, needs, and motivations - ensuring our platforms are grounded in real-world insight. Working closely with product manager, designers, and engineering teams, you will help shape our products with a deep understanding of the people who use them.

Responsibilities will include:




Plan, conduct, and analyse qualitative and quantitative user research (e.g., user interviews, usability testing, surveys, data analysis, etc.). Create UX artifacts, such as journey maps and user personas, that can effectively communicate user need and behaviours. Translate research findings into clear insights and actionable recommendations that guide product strategy and design. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate user insights into the product development process and ensure alignment to user expectations and requirements. Stay up to date on UX research trends, methodologies, and tools to continuously improve research practices.



Qualifications and Experience:




Required:




A strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the ability to choose the right approach for each project. Familiarity with common research tools and analytics platforms. Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, capable of delivering insights that resonate with designers, engineers, executives, and other stakeholders A willingness to advocate user-centric design and help build a user focussed culture within the organisation. A proactive attitude and an eagerness to engage across business functions to ensure user context is integrated into every stage of the development process.

Desirable:




Experience working within the defence sector, with a deep understanding and empathy for the needs, context, and challenges faced by its user groups.

: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum Existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.*
