Criminal Justice in Wales consists of the police, probation, prisons, Crown Prosecution Service, Youth Justice, and the Court and Tribunal service. All these partners are continuing to work on their Criminal Justice Anti-Racism Action Plan for Wales, which was launched in 2022.

Criminal Justice in Wales now want to recruit new members to its Independent Panel, including an independent Chair. Panel members are paid to oversee the criminal justice anti-racism work, to provide external scrutiny, and ensure progress is being made.

The recruitment is open to those passionate for change, having experienced the system themselves.

Panel members are paid an hourly rate for meeting attendance and preparation. The Chair is paid a higher rate to reflect additional duties.

Criminal Justice in Wales would particularly like the panel to be made up of people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, including Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

The panel requires at least one member who can develop and lead on communication with the public, including via social media channels. Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with this experience and skillset.
