About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Flu Vaccination Nurse on a locum contract in Hertfordshire. This role involves delivering seasonal influenza vaccinations to a diverse patient population

Key Responsibilities

Administer influenza vaccinations to patients in accordance with clinical protocols and guidelines. Conduct patient assessments to ensure suitability for vaccination, including reviewing medical histories and addressing contraindications. Provide clear and accurate information to patients about the flu vaccine, addressing any concerns or questions. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with GDPR and local policies. Adhere to infection control, health, and safety standards, including safe disposal of clinical waste. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure smooth delivery of vaccination clinics. Report any adverse reactions or incidents in line with organizational protocols.
Essential Qualifications and Skills

Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse. Experience in administering vaccinations or injections (flu vaccination experience preferred but not essential). Strong knowledge of infection control and safe clinical practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse patient groups. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments. Flexibility to work across multiple sites in Hertfordshire and adapt to varying shift patterns. Basic IT skills for maintaining electronic patient records.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills

Previous experience in community nursing or public health initiatives. Training in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Anaphylaxis Management. Familiarity with local healthcare systems and vaccination protocols in Hertfordshire.
Requirements

Up-to-date DBS check (within the last 12 months). Evidence of current immunizations, including Hepatitis B. Right to work in the UK. Access to a car or reliable transport (preferred due to travel between sites).
