Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Vacex Operator Driver to join our team. Ideally, candidate will possess a background in construction. This role requires excellent communication skills and mechanical knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of the vehicle and adherence to delivery schedules.

Duties

Operate vacuum excavation equipment (suction excavators) safely and efficiently. Ensure timely and safe delivery of service while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of work completed, incidents, and delays. and vehicle maintenance. Communicate effectively with site supervisors, utility companies, and ground teams. regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Carry out non-invasive excavation near live utilities (gas, electric, water, telecoms). Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic repairs and maintenance on the lorry when necessary.

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence (HGV Class 2 preferred) CSCS Card (essential) Experience operating vacuum excavation units (Desirable but training can be provided) Good awareness of underground utility avoidance Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while on the road. Good awareness of underground utility avoidance Strong understanding of site health & safety procedures Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused

CPCS/NPORS for plant machinery (if applicable) Streetworks (NRSWA) EUSR or SHEA Card (Water / Gas / Telecoms)
