We are seeking a skilled and reliable van driver to join our team. The role is ad-hoc and would suit a retired person looking to top up their pension.
Our busiest days for driving are Wednesday and Thursday, and these are the days when you would most likely be required. Start times would vary and be between 8am - 11:30am, but you would always be back on site for 4:30pm. Average time on the road on a typical day would be 3-5 hrs.
We have a small Peugeot van and a larger flat bed van, both can be driven on a standard UK driving licence. You will need to be confident in this type of vehicle and hold a clean driving license.
Responsibilities
Operate a flatbed vehicle for the safe transportation of goods to various locations
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding delivery schedules and requirements
Demonstrate mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on the vehicles
Experience
Some experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably with flatbed experience is preferred.
Familiarity with warehouse operations is advantageous
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Expected hours: 3 - 12 per week
