Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent communication with clients and warehouse staff. This role includes manual lifting of goods.

For insurance you must be over 25 years of age.

Duties

Safely drive a van to deliver goods to designated locations. Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues as necessary. Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road. Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organisation.

Skills

Proven experience as a Van Driver or in a similar role, preferably within a delivery or warehouse environment. Strong driving skills with a valid commercial driving licence. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Familiarity with flatbed vehicles is an advantage but not essential. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
