Responsibilities

Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles for delivery purposes. Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely arrivals at designated locations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to guarantee roadworthiness. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays. Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including driving hours and load limits. Assist with warehouse operations when required, including inventory management and stock organisation.

Requirements

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles. Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record. Previous experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients. Experience working in warehouse environments is advantageous. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading cargo safely. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to transportation and warehousing.
