Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced individual to join our team as a Van Driver. This role involves operating one of our electric vans primarily focusing on transferring scooters around Cambridge, swapping batteries and performing quality checks on scooters on the road. The successful candidate will be able to work under their own initiative while following standard operating procedures. They will need to communicate with the rest of the team to ensure tasks are completed in a timeley manner. This role will involve heavy lifting, each scooter weighs around 20kg and the batteries are 5kg each.

Working hours: Night- Shift (18:00-2:00 am) and weekends.

Duties

Safely operate electric vans to move scooters and e-bikes around Cambridge. Follow correct procedures accurately to ensure safe handling of batteries. Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to traffic regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance. Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured correctly during transit. Maintain accurate records by using the mobile app to complete tasks.

Experience

Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with vans or similar vehicles. Knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards applicable to commercial vehicles in the UK. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients. Valid clean driver's licence. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in driving and logistics. A good knowledge of Cambridge and the roads will be advantagious.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 13.50-19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
