Responsibilities

Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, for the delivery of goods to designated locations. Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Assist in loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on vehicles when necessary. Collaborate with team members to improve delivery processes and enhance customer satisfaction.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver with a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations. Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues effectively. Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding logistics operations. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues. Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently. Strong organisational skills to manage delivery schedules and documentation effectively. A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type being operated is essential.
