Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively. The Van Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of service.

We are also keen to develop our colleagues & would welcome candidates who want further their skills & experience. Specifically HGV Class 2 then onto Class 1 (fully funded).

Duties

Operate a van to transport goods and materials to various locations. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo (Furniture), adhering to all safety regulations. Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork for each delivery. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Follow all traffic laws and company policies while driving, promoting safety on the road. Assist with flatbed deliveries when required, ensuring proper securing of loads.

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving is preferred. Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is advantageous. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for vehicle operation. Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as needed during loading and unloading. Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to tight schedules. Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and maintaining high service standards.

Pay: 13.25 per hour
