Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and reliable Van / Lorry Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage deliveries with precision. The ideal applicant will possess relevant driving experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with warehouse operations. Responsibilities

Safely operate various types of commercial vehicles such as Vans, 7.5-ton lorries and preferably up to Class 1 HGV's (Not essential), ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies. Execute delivery routes efficiently, maintaining timely schedules. Load and unload goods at warehouses or customer sites, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal functioning of the vehicle. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery times and any issues encountered during transit. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements. Assist with warehouse duties when required, including stock organisation and inventory management.

Qualifications

Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record. Class 1 HGV would be advantageous. Experience as a delivery driver or commercial lorry driver is preferable. Strong driving skills with a solid understanding of road safety regulations. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing schedules. Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
