We have an exciting opportunity to join our specialist vascular team to cover maternity leave for nine months within the surgical division

They will need to have specialist knowledge and skills, work at a senior level with leadership responsibilities. Their role will involve direct patient care, complex decision making and managing specific surgical interventions within an agreed framework
The role of the Vascular Practitioner in a spoke hospital is key to ensuring the service provides the best care for Bolton patients who will undergo surgery at Manchester Royal Infirmary. The Vascular Practitioner will run nurse led clinics, pre-operative assessment clinics and will also attend consultant clinics.The post holder will be expected to work closely with colleagues from both organisations to ensure a seamless pathway for patients. This will involve liaising with consultants, specialist nurses and anaesthetists at the hub hospital.The post holder will be expected to monitor standards of care through audit and evidenced based practice. She/he will be expected to participate in clinical governance within the service by undertaking audit and research as part of the MDT.
Main duties of the job
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.Provide advanced levels of clinical practice related to vascular conditions2.Carry out pre-operative assessments on patients due to have procedures and/or surgery both at the hub hospital and the spoke hospital and liaise with the surgeons/anaesthetists if any concerns3.Prescribe within scope of practice if indicated4.Offer health promotion to patients in order to reduce risk factors for disease progression5.Assist in the development of care pathways to develop a high quality seamless service based on the principals of best practice.6.Work autonomously to manage own caseload of patients whilst working as part of the Multidisciplinary team.7. Be accountable for all aspects of care, advice and treatment offered topatients within caseload.8. Detect and recognise potential problems in the patient's condition and take
