We have an exciting new opportunity for a Trainee ABA Therapist to join our team! If you're passionate about delivering values driven behaviour and education programs, this could be the role for you! All programs have behaviour analysis at the core, as well as a strong PBS framework, and incorporate education research, parenting research and attachment theory.

This is a

self-employed

role for

4-6 hours a week

in

Harrogate (HG1)

, with possibility to expand in the future. A long-term commitment (min. 1 year) is desired for this particular client.

This is an ideal opportunity for a

Psychology graduate

with an interest in

SEN

and

behaviour

to build practical experience.

Main Duties:



Deliver (2 hour) play based therapy session 2-3 times per week , (2 afterschool 4:30-6:30 / Saturdays 4-6pm) Learn to analyse behaviour and use the principles of behaviour analysis to provide fun, interactive sessions, filled with differentiated learning opportunities (training ongoing and provided) Work 1-1 with a 9-10 year old with ASD You will have access to virtual training, and direct support once a month per programme (approx. 3 hours per programme), plus a 1-1 call with once a month with a Behavioural Consultant to support you in developing your practise You will attend workshops once a month (reviews of the programme and practical guidance) in addition to your usual sessions You will run therapy alone, in the client's home, using initiative and keeping resources organised You will provide a neuro-affirming approach and a supportive environment for neurodivergent learners You will provide support for parents, ensuring they understand targets, and answer any questions they may have, with support from your Supervisor Please be aware that as part of play, some running, lifting and general physical activity may be needed You may deal directly with behaviours of concern (e.g. scratching, biting, throwing objects) and learn how to support with these You will work closely with parents and the Behavioural Consultant for your programmes You will follow standard safeguarding procedure and report any concerns whilst you are working You will receive regular support and training from the Supervisor and Consultant (BCBA/UKBA supervision can be included in this role.) You will demonstrate consistent punctuality, be proactive asking questions, and communicate any issues

Essential:



You must have previous experience working with SEN children

You must be able to commit for at least 1 year

You must be open to learning new approaches and procedures

You must be reliable and able to offer long-term commitment to the programme

You must have excellent communication skills

You must have right to work and be able to be self-employed in the UK

You must have a clean Enhanced DBS check or be willing to undertake one

Desirable:



You may have availability to work with additional children in future

You may have previous experience with PBS/ABA

You may have use of a car, for ease of getting to clients
