Allied Trades
(Carpenters, Shop Fitters, Boat Fitters) to join our Company at our 46-acre railway maintenance facility in Eastleigh.
Previous experience in Rail Vehicle Refurbishment is preferred, but not essential
.

The Company supplies many rail maintenance and refurbishment services including;
Routine maintenance of a variety of locomotives, coaching and other stock
Mobile services which are the most extensive in the UK including re-railing and heavy lifting and wheelset changes on site
Bogie overhaul
Heavy repair including collision repairs, re-wiring, interior refurbishment and overhaul
Paint shop
Rolling stock storage
Workshop facilities to other customers
Train stabling and additional related storage
What is the opportunity?
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with high attention to detail. The role involves undertaking the repair and maintenance of vehicle bodywork, interior refurbishments, complete re-builds, carrying out routine bodywork inspections and servicing. Tasks include;
Visual inspection
Condition assessment
Fully comply with all relevant Engineering SOPs
Communicate effectively with colleagues and leadership team
Maintain and develop technical skills as required
Record of Tasks carried out.
Ability to undertake work safely and following industry best practice, client specifications and Industry Safety Regulations
Any other comparable duties as and when requested
What Experience & Qualifications Do I Need?
Vehicle Building Within Rolling Stock (Desired)
Previous Experience as a Shipwright, Galley Fitter, Carpenters, Shop Fitters Outfitters, Joiner or Aircraft Galley Fitter.
Demonstrate the ability to read diagrams and work to specifications
Be able to plan and manage work load to ensure timely delivery on customer projects
Be a problem solver
Must be able to apply a working knowledge of mechanical equipment
Must possess particular practical, productive and Vehicle Building skills
